Ethereum Mech Shooter 'MetalCore' Launches Open Beta on Epic Games Store

Exciting news for gamers: MetalCore, the mech shooter that blends elements of Titanfall and Destiny, is entering its open beta phase on the Epic Games Store on September 12. This release will also debut the game’s first in-game season, “MetalPunk Rhapsody,” and marks a significant upgrade as it transitions to Unreal Engine 5.

Previously running on Unreal Engine 4, MetalCore has been enhanced to leverage the latest technology, promising smoother gameplay and improved graphics. The move to Unreal Engine 5 reflects the game’s commitment to delivering a cutting-edge experience, aligning with industry standards used by top AAA studios.

Studio369, the developer behind MetalCore, has been refining the game through various closed beta phases over the past six months. With the open beta, the studio is inviting everyone to test out the game and experience its new features firsthand.

The “MetalPunk Rhapsody” season introduces a fresh seasonal format, with each season lasting approximately four weeks. Players will earn seasonal rewards and limited-time prizes as they progress through the ranks. The new season will spotlight the MetalPunk faction with themed content, skins, and storylines that delve into the game’s universe.

Among the new features, players can look forward to PvE raids where up to 10 players from the same faction team up to battle a formidable alien species and secure valuable resources. This new mode is designed to test and enhance teamwork within factions.

Additionally, MetalCore will introduce new rarity and strength variables for vehicles and mechs, and the mission system has received a significant update. Introductory missions have been improved to better guide new players, while existing players will enjoy fresh content and updates.

The open beta follows the launch of MetalCore’s native token, MCG, in June, and the earlier closed beta tests. Previously, players needed an Epic Games Store key or a Founders Pack to participate, but starting September 12, anyone can download and dive into the game.

With these updates and the open beta launch, MetalCore is set to attract both new and returning players eager to explore its enhanced features and dynamic gameplay.
